Obituary

Lindsay Ray Kyser, age 73, passed away and joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 11, 2018. Christine, his loving daughter, was at his side as he completed his journey home. Ray was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on March 4, 1945 to the late Mr. Arthur L. and Mrs. Mary Lou Kyser. Also, preceding Ray was his beloved wife, Irene, who passed on June 1, 2018; his sister, Barbara Gibson, who passed away in 2012, and his brother, James Kyser, who passed away in 2002.

Ray grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia where he graduated from Albemarle High School. Afterwards he graduated from The University of Richmond with a B.A. in English. Ray served on the Presidents Advisory Council and as the President for the Student Center Board of Governors. He was also a member of Sigma Chi, President for the Y.M.C.A, and on the R.O.T.C. Drill Team. Later, he earned his M.B.A. from Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia.

Soon after Ray and Irene married in 1967, Ray served as an officer for the United States Army from July 1968 to June 1973. During this time, he distinguished himself by rendering meritorious service to the Delaware Army National Guard from 1968 to 1970. During Rays life long career with Johnson and Johnson, he was recognized for his innovative leadership and valuable contributions. After retirement, he taught at Saint Leo University, consulted with J&J, and worked with the local Salvation Army.

Ray was a devoted husband for over 50 years and a truly amazing father to his daughter. He will always be remembered for his unwavering Christian walk. His deep and abiding faith was responsible for his strong desire to help others. He was an inspiration to his family, friends, and all those that he came in contact with. Whether he was lending a helping hand, providing the means for children to attend camp, or making anonymous donations, all felt his selfless acts of kindness.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Christine Royer (Travis) and granddaughter, Audrey Royer of Tampa, FL.; his brother, Art Kyser (Peggie) of Gretna, VA; brother, Danny Kyser (Diane) and brother, Dale Kyser (Lois) of Charlottesville, VA.
