Linda Louise
Cole
Jun 11, 1937 — Sep 8, 2026
Linda Louise Cole, age 89, passed away on the late morning of September 8, 2026 in Brooksville, Florida.
She was born on June 11, 1937 to parents Victor and Ann (Chernicky) Washner of Cleveland, Ohio. Linda later attended Shaw High School and graduated with her diploma in 1955. She became a medical records clerk at a diagnostic clinic later in her career, working this position for a number of years.
She met her husband Charles C. Cole Jr. in Ohio, and they married in 1977. It was soon time for them to relocate, eventually making the move down to Florida. Together, they blended their families to include their ten children: Terri, Fred, Victor, Missy, Joe, Tim, Dan, Andrea, Chuck, and Micki.
Linda was a true firecracker. She was social and funny; dancing and going out on the town, traveling to the Smokies, and attending Broadway shows. She loved Arabian Nights and Medieval Times, but Linda also kept time for herself. Housekeeping meticulously where everything had a certain spot, reading, listening to classical music, and enjoying ballet were all some of the ways she kept herself busy and her mind sharp.
Linda loved her family, and that included her cats. She absolutely adored all three at the time of her passing: Marigold, Fuzzball, and Trouble. Despite the name, and all of the colorful nicknames she gave him, Trouble was the most loyal to Linda and stayed by her side until the very end.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Charles C. Cole Jr. in 2008.
She is survived by her children: Terri, Fred, Victor, Missy, Joe, Tim, Dan, Andrea, Chuck, and Micki. She is further survived by her grandchildren, of which there are 18, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Linda will be remembered as she lived: full of love. Although many mourn her passing, the memories and laughs shared with a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a friend will never be forgotten.
