Obituary

Lillian Ruth Harry Smith, 90, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, at her home in Dade City, FL, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on June 17th, 1933, in Pompano Beach, FL, to Adrian Ernest and Addie Mae (DeLegal) Harry. After her mothers passing, Ruth moved to Lacoochee in 1942 to live with her Aunt and Uncle, Frances Elizabeth, and C.C. Smith. Ruth attended school in Pompano Beach and Lacoochee and was a proud graduate of Pasco High School in 1951. She retired after a long and dedicated career of 30 years working in the banking industry at First Union National Bank, formerly known as the Bank of Pasco County. She also worked for Withlacoochee River Electric Company as a secretary for 8 years, and Pahokee Housing Authority In Pahokee, FL, for about 5 years. Ruth was a proud Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee and served for 14 years as Treasurer for the Pasco Baptist Association. She was also a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Preceding her in death was her husband of 44 years, Rev. W. Ray Smith, her daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Pyles, her parents, aunt, uncle, and brother, Franklin Harry. Survived by Daughter Dianne Smith Granados, Step Daughter Vicki Smith (Chuck) Cornaire, Grand Children Jonathan (Arlene) Brownell, Michael Smith, Mia Granados, Sophia Granados, Step Grand Children Chrisy (Chris) Drum, Casey (Jason) Wilbur, Great Grand Children Gavin Brownell, Ava Brownell, Vanessa Smith, Step Great Grand Children Dominick Gattinella, Zachary (Marissa) Drum, Micah (Shelby) Drum, Hannah (Austin) Rowell, Caroline Wilbur, Nolan Wilbur, Toby Wilbur, Step Great Great Grand Children Jameson Drum, Everett Drum many Nephews , Nieces, Cousins and Church Family and friends. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 4th, 2023, at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Visitation from 10-11a, with service at 11a, and committal service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 1p where shell be laid to rest with her husband.
