Obituary

Lill Anderson passed away at her home on Sunday morning, June 2nd, after a brief hospitalization. She was 93 years old.

She was born September 26, 1930 in Seattle, Washington to Richard & Elsie Sundberg. She graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO where she met the love of her life, Duane Anderson. They were married for 60 wonderful years and spent their life together in Dade City as owners of Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home. In addition to her ministry and raising two children, she was very active in the familys funeral business and church as lifelong members of Calvary Assembly of God church. In the early days of their marriage, Lill played the piano and Duane was song leader and choir director until the church was able to hire a music minister and pianist. For many years they were active in prison ministry and hosted a weekly prayer meeting in their home on Monday evenings.

Lill was gifted from God with a beautiful voice, and began singing in church as a young teenager, continuing in college, and then eventually as the soloist for Revivaltime, which was the first religious radio broadcast aired around the world on the ABC Network every Sunday evening. This began a lifelong ministry in gospel music. She had a weekly Sunday afternoon radio program in the 1970s called "An Hour with Lill", and her music touched the lives of many through her album recordings. She was asked to sing at events and churches around the country and abroad, and locally at hundreds of weddings and funerals in her lifetime - the last time when she was 90 years of age!

Her many other activities included serving as President of the Dade City Womans Club and President of the local chapter of Womens Aglow. In recent years, she loved to make and share her crocheted afghans and hangers with family and friends.

Lill was preceded in death by her husband Duane Anderson, her parents, and brother Harvey Sundberg. She is survived by her sister, Carol Sundberg Strum of Anniston, AL; son, Rick Anderson, his children Andrew Anderson and Jessica Martinez (Adam); along with daughter, Robin Carver (Ed) and their children Christopher and Alex Carver.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 5-7 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home, and Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 12, 2pm at Calvary Assembly of God, Dade City, followed by burial next to Duane at the Dade City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to your personal favorite faith-based ministry, or Gulfside Hospice www.Gulfside.org.
