Leonard "Lenny" Paul Margiotta

Leonard "Lenny" Paul Margiotta, 72, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 10, 1953, he was the son of Carmello Margiotta and Toby Baron.

Lenny earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College and went on to build a career with the New York State Insurance Fund. On March 7, 1990, Lenny married Catherine Taverna in Staten Island, New York. Together, they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and a shared love of travel.

Over the years, Lenny made his home in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and eventually Zephyrhills, Florida. No matter where he lived, he carried with him his passion for the New York Yankees, his curiosity about history, and his appreciation for the written word.

Lenny is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Taverna of Zephyrhills, FL; his step-son Christopher (Karen) Taverna of Fredonia, NY; and his cherished grandchildren, Reid Taverna of Portland, ME, Gillian Taverna of Fredonia, NY, and Erin Taverna of Fredonia, NY. He also leaves behind his faithful pets, Ozzie and Mani, who brought him comfort and companionship. His family and friends will remember him for his wry humor, thoughtful manner, and the quiet love he had for them.

Lenny's legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless moments of joy he shared with friends and loved ones.
