Obituary

Leon Edgar Milton passed away May 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, leadership, and devotion to family. Born on October 11, 1934, in Lacoochee, Florida, Leon lived a life marked by compassion, hard work, and a deep love for both his community and the Lord.

Leon was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Betty Loretta Milton (Eaddy) (1936–2024); his father, Houston Bogue Milton; his mother, Annie Beatrice Milton Caruthers; his sisters, Irene King, Lillian Stout, and Nadine Milton; and his brothers, Harry Milton and Hubert Milton.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Karen Malone (Marc) and Vance Milton (Debbie). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Amber Lopez (Sam), April Milton, Jessica DeLong, McKenzie Valentino (Jimmy), and Cutter Malone. Leon was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought him much joy: Judah Lopez, Naomi Lopez, Murphy Gensen, and Mavy Valentino.

A proud graduate of Pasco High School, Class of 1952, Leon remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life. He dedicated himself to service in numerous organizations and leadership roles. He served as both a member and President of the Rotary Club, was a Chairman and member of the Pasco County School Board, and participated in organizations and activities including Hunter’s Green Tennis Club, Temple Terrace Tennis Club, Dade City Softball, and Blood Net USA.

Faith was the cornerstone of Leon’s life. Throughout the years, he worshiped and served faithfully through St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, First United Methodist Church, Calvary Assembly of God, Dade City Church of God, and Linden Church of God. His ministry was active and hands-on: he sang in church choirs, performed as a soloist and in men’s quartets, served as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and Children’s Church worker, and faithfully carried responsibilities as church treasurer and board member. He also helped physically build churches, contributing not only his time but his heart and hands to the work of the Lord.

Leon loved the Lord deeply and loved his family wholeheartedly. He lived a life centered on faith, service, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. His steady presence, servant’s heart, and commitment to others will be remembered and treasured by family, friends, and his community for generations to come.

His life was a testament to the words he lived by: faith first, family always, and service to others along the way.
