Lenard Jones, 85 of Ridge Manor and Plant City Florida, passed on Friday, June 26, 2015. Lenard was born in Silver Point, Tennessee. He served in the 1st Infantry division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at the old Coronet mine in Plant City, Florida for 44 years. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars , Bay Hill, Florida, a member of American Legion Post 101, Belville Corner, Florida, and also the Order of the Moose in Dade City, Florida. Lenard was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills, Florida by Pastor Rob McKinney and Steve Jones. He is survived by loving wife Tina Jones; children Teresa & Bookie Dubose, Earl Jones, Cindy & Dennis Layton, Steve & Becky Jones and Tanya & Mark Boyett Jr; grandchildren Joy & Chad Driggers, RJ & Christina Dubose, Bobby Jones, Donnie Jones, Matt Jones, Luke Jones, Maxwell Layton, Cherish & Michael Fridler Jr, Whitney Boyett, Marcus Boyett and Benjamin Boyett; 7 great-grandchildren; and loving friends. A funeral service for Lenard will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home's 301 chapel on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:00 am, Pastor Chad Driggers presiding. The family will receive guests an hour prior, from 10:00am to 11:00am. A committal ceremony by Pastor Daniel Middlebrook will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, at 1:00pm.
