Thompson, Leland E., 86 of Dade City, FL passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 in Dade City under the care of HPH Hospice. He was born February 22, 1928 in Lacoochee, FL to Charles Phillip & Vera Olive Brassen Thompson, a pioneer Pasco County family, and was a lifelong area resident. He served Pasco County as Sheriff from 1964 1968 and settled into his retirement years as a Cattle Rancher. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Margaret L. Thompson; daughter: Leatrice (Bill); sons: David and Kevin(Brenda); 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 son Michael. Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, January 16, 2015 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dade City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time (10-11am) Friday morning at the funeral home. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in his memory to HPH Hospice.
