Lee Davis Cumbie, Jr. 60, of Dunn, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2021 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was preceded in death by his father Lee D. Cumbie, Sr., mother Dorothy Lee Stafford (Williams) and brother Jessie Rayborn. He is survived by his loving wife Karen, his three children Jashua, Kyrissa and Delaney, two grandchildren Ayden and Kailynn, stepmother Kathy Cumbie, siblings Teresa Denison (Vince), Joseph Bishop, Brice Cumbie (Lela), Patricia Rayborn, Tracy Rayborn, Mona Stafford and Tyrone Stafford (Jessica). Lee served his country in the United States Navy as a Submarine Nuclear Reactor Technician and later graduated from Campbell University School of Law. He was an avid reader, loved music, sports and especially loved coaching and training his girls in softball and volleyball. Lee will be dearly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for his strength, faith and how much he cherished family. A service will be held June 9,2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. A time of visitation and remembrance will take place prior to service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell,Fl. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the Leukemia Foundation or charity of choice.
