LEE HINCHMAN CLARK III November 23, 1956 - June 28, 2021 Lee Hinchman ("Chip") Clark III, of Dade City, FL died peacefully at home, in June, of heart disease. Lee was born November 23, 1956, in Detroit, MI to Lee H., Jr., and Nancy Wensinger Clark, the third of four children. Son, brother, uncle, companion, counselor, and friend, he had a fine mind, a dynamic personality, a wry sense of humor and many and wide-ranging interests. When young, Lees independent thought caught the attention of all. Whether renouncing attendance to Kindergarten, describing molecular phenomenon at dinner while still in elementary school or understanding the benefits of automatic clutches well before he could drive, Lee made it a habit to keep things interesting at the Clark household and neighborhood in his youth. After beginning at Grosse Ile High School, Lee followed in the footsteps of his father and attended Berkshire School in Berkshire, MA where, like his father before him, his math accomplishments set him apart and where he made long-standing friendships. He matriculated to the University of Michigan in 1975, where he most enjoyed his classes in Computer Sciences and Engineering and the classic fun to be had with his fraternity brothers of Delta Tau Delta. After UM, the West Coast called with its great climate, its burgeoning rock-and-roll scene and growing opportunities in the field of electronics. In Los Angeles, Lee met a like-minded entrepreneur and thus began his career as an electrical engineer in radio which spanned more than 30 years. As they developed and then sold radio stations, Lee moved with the company from LA to Las Vegas, Clearwater and finally Dade City, FL. This business arrangement allowed Lee to test his many talents, not only as a technician, but also as a station manager, sales manager and producer of his own regular weekly segment, both for WTAN and WDCF. Lee, recently describing his single-handed management of all aspects of WDCF, called that "his inspiration". He was working there at the time of his death. Church became a cornerstone of Lees life beginning during his tenure in LA. He studied the Bible intently and could easily quote both Old and New Testament scripture. Lee demonstrated his devotion by sharing his musical gifts, playing guitar and singing at church. He, also, was generous in sharing his religious convictions with those closest to him and though that might not always result in reaching consensus, one could not help but admire his passion and the depth of his faith. It was at church in Florida that he met Carol, with whom he had much in common, including their religious beliefs, keen senses of humor and infectious laughs. When together they had lovely grace about them and eventually they began to make wedding plans. Most sadly, Carols untimely death precluded their marriage. Lee was preceded in death, also, by his father, Lee, and his sister, Anne C. Trupiano. He is survived by his mother, Nancy, his sisters, Susan C. Levine (Robert) and Elizabeth C. Morin (Donald), nieces, Elizabeth and Laura, nephew, Clark, and uncle, Arthur S. Wensinger. Memorial services are planned for Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at St. James Episcopal Church.
