Laura McLeod Johnson 85, of Dade City, Florida, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021. She was born February 29, 1936 in Greenville, Florida to Thomas Perry & Bernice Elizabeth McLeod. She is a longtime area resident and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dade City, the Magnolia Circle of the Dade City Garden Club, and past Director of both the Bank of Madison County and Bank at Ormond By-The-Sea.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Hjalma Johnson; her son Leonard "Len" Johnson (Nancy B.); 2 grandchildren: Brock Johnson (Courtney), Paige Dingman (Chris); and 3 great grandchildren: Davis Dingman, Carter Johnson, and Virginia Dingman.

Laura was like a second mother to many, and Nana to multiple generations, loving nothing more than spending time with Lens friends, and many years later, with Brock and Paiges friends in many places, but most especially Florida Field in Gainesville, and in the mountains of Colorado.

She was unique in many ways, but one distinction she particularly enjoyed. She was the only person to be both a wife and mother of presidents of Gator Boosters, Inc.

A Celebration of her Life will be held 2pm Saturday, June 12th, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Dade City.
