Obituary

Larry R Chauncey, age 77 – Dedicated Christian and lifelong resident of Zephyrhills, FL.

Went to his Heavenly home on October 5th, 2024, in Tampa, FL.

Born on July 23rd, 1947, to late parents Berlie and Margaret Chauncey in Lakeland, FL.

Attended Zephyrhills Highschool, Polk State College, and joined the United States Army in 1968, becoming a Paratrooper for the 101st Airborne. Permanently wounded in Vietnam in 1968, became a paraplegic disabled veteran, earning two Purple Heart Decorations. Went on to become a professional wheelchair bowler, winning National Champion. Other hobbies and interests included hunting, gunsmithing, antique cars and attending church in his hometown.

Survived by wife Darlene Lowery Chauncey; daughters Kimberly Chauncey Parr, Christine Carter, and Ginger Andrews; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, November 15th, 10am at Family of God Baptist Church, 10331 Old Lakeland Highway, Dade City, FL. Final resting place National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones may honor Larry by donating to the Wounded Warrior Project in Tampa, FL, which he was a member of.
