Lacey Mccarthy
Bahr
August 17, 1981 – September 30, 2024
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lacey J McCarthy Bahr, a beloved daughter, wife, and friend, who left this world on Monday, September 30, at the age of 43. Born to Cindy and Johnny McCarthy on August 17, 1981, in Dade City, Florida, Lacey was the adored wife of Eric Bahr. She was the granddaughter of Patsy and Bobby Hall and the late John and Agnes McCarthy. She cherished her extensive family, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her God Daughter. Her vibrant energy from a young age attracted many, making her a natural magnet for people. Lacey never met a stranger. Lacey was a lifelong resident of Dade City, Florida. She grew up on her family ranch where cattle and horses were the norm. Her special love was horses, which she rode to championship status. After graduating from Pasco High School in 2000, she headed to McNeese State University in Louisiana. While pursuing her degree in Animal Science and competing in barrel racing, she not only mastered the sport, but also created lifelong friendships, and a collection of hilarious stories along the way. Post-college, she lived in Dade City, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Wellborn, FL. Known as a "Daddy's Girl," she treasured her relationship with her father and mother. Lacey's career in education and healthcare showcased her commitment and compassion, impacting countless lives. In 2022, she earned her ARNP degree from the University of Tampa. As a cherished and dedicated nurse practitioner, she formed deep connections, always offering comfort, an empathetic ear, or a meal to share. She was a remarkable friend. Her laughter and vitality left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Despite her habitual tardiness, she invariably managed to appear stunning and lit up every room she walked into. The legacy of Lacey McCarthy Bahr, through the memories she created the lives she influenced, and the love she shared, will continue to live on. She will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered by those lucky enough to have known her. Waiting at Heaven's Gate, Lacey's beloved pets, Honey's Wonder Belle, her 34-year-old horse and Bristol, her Jack Russell Terrier, welcomed her home. A Celebration of Life has been planned at The Colonial at Sunset, 3112 Pasco Road, San Antonio, FL 33576, October 29, 2024, at 2:00pm.
