Kenneth Warren Hoak, of Zephyrhills, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, with his loving family with him. He was born June 19, 1943 near Manor PA. He received his associates degree in Electrical Engineering at Penn State and went to work for Bell Labs in Columbus Ohio and stayed in Telephony his entire working carreer. Ken was accomplished in many things. He was a private pilot and built his own gyrocopter; he has extensively remolded or added on to several homes and restored many cars and a few cycles. He built a TV from a kit, created stained glass and many pieces of furniture. Then he got into computers, and started another new love. He built, upgraded, restored and improved many machines over the years.Ken and his family lived in Tampa for 30 years while he worked for GTE, then moved to Forest Lake Estates in Zephyrhills about 13 years ago.Ken is survived by his wife, Carol Walters Hoak and his two sons, Douglas and Matthew and his wife Tammy, two beautiful Granddaughters, Lindsay and Courtney and three very special Great Granddaughters, Maizey, Will and his brother James Hoak and his wife Joan of Atlanta. Arrangements have been made with Hodges Family Funeral Home at 11441 Hwy 301, Dade City, FL just North of Zephyrhills for Monday. Visitations times from 12-2pm Monday with Services following at 2pm. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of your choice, although the Heart Association and Stroke Prevention were causes dear to him.
