Dozier
May 6, 1938 – November 29, 2025
Katy Murrel Dozier, 87, of Zephyrhills, went home to be with the Lord on November 29,
2025. She was born on May 6, 1938 in Richland, Florida and graduated from Zephyrhills
High School in 1956, where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. She worked
many years for Schlitz Brewing Company in Clearwater and Weyerhaeuser Company in
Tampa, with her last job as Secretary at Richland Baptist Church. She was a member of
Family of God Baptist Church and she loved cooking, fishing, hunting, following her
grandkids in sports, going to church and serving the Lord. She was an avid softball
player and coach.
She is survived by her loving husband, Johnny, of 43 years and three children, Cindy
Wilt, Tommy Patterson and Sandy Patterson; seven (7) grandchildren: Jessie, Heather
(Jeff), Stephanie, Kali, Steven, Brandon (Ashley) and Bradley (Bennett) and thirteen (13)
great-grandchildren along with many other family members and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, William H. & Edith Nesbit; sister: Hilda Baker and
brothers: Henry C. Nesbit, Marion F. Nesbit and Billy Pomeroy.
Katy "Murrel" Dozier was a loving wife, wonderful mother and an amazing Grandma.
She loved all her family with all her heart and showed love and kindness to all friends and any stranger.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, from 10-11 am, with a
Celebration of Life Service at 11 am. Interment will follow the service at Richland
Cemetery.
