Ms. Kathryn T. Leitner, of Zephyrhills, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023, surrounded by family. She was 81. Kathryn was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on June 16, 1942, the daughter of the late William and Thelma (McCrink) Grinnell, and sister to the late William Grinnell. She grew up in Newton, MA, and she graduated from Newton High School. Kathryn was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Celtics fan. She loved rooting for her team, and she would decorate her entire house to match her team for the season. Kathryn loved to travel to New Hampshire to see her children and grandchildren when she had the opportunity. Kathryn was a devoted mother who went above and beyond for her children John J. Leitner and his wife Kim, of Laconia, NH; Kimberly A. Rulison, of Dade City, FL; Eric W. Leitner and his wife Jessica, of New Barnstead, NH; Richard M. Leitner and his wife Christiane, of Framingham, MA; and Robert M. Leitner, of Manchester, NH. She was a loving grandmother to Timothy John Leitner, Michael Payne, Danielle Pinkerton, Courtney Leitner, Nicole Payne, Kaylie Leitner, Mickenna Leitner, Luchiano Leitner, Krystina Laraway and Brittney Shute. She was a loving great grandmother to Khloe Pinkerton, Everly Leitner, Logan Leitner, Riley Leitner, Kimber Payne, and Kelsey Payne. She also leaves nephews Neal Grinnell, Kevin Grinnell, Thomas Grinnell, and Christopher Grinnell, as well as the late Diane Grinnell. Jack, the love of Kathryns life preceded her in death. Kathryn is also survived by many close friends. There will not be any funeral service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA, as Kathryn was a true lover of animals, especially her cats.
