Kathleen Hickey DiSanto (4/15/1941) passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 quietly at home, surrounded by family and her dearest friend Mary Yearty. She was born on Long Island, NY to Dr. Thomas Paul Hickey and Ruth Senker Hickey, the eldest of nine children. Kathy was an APRN who taught 20 years at HCC, and after retiring, created and held the position of parish nurse at St. Marks Catholic Church. In her last years she has been a volunteer and family to the Benedictine monks at St. Leo's Abbey. Kathy has 3 sons: Anthony & Shannon, Thomas & Eve, Christopher & Heather and 5 grandchildren. She has been the Grande Dame of her family of origin, as well as her own family, keeping open communications and organizing reunions. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 2pm Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the St. Leo Abbey Church. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Monday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Leo Abbey in her memory.
