Karen Jeanette Petters (May 25, 1961 September 5, 2022) Karen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on September 5, 2022, in Zephyrhills, FL. Karen loved being on the water, cookouts with friends and family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Being a Florida native growing up in St. Joe, she enjoyed fishing with her family at local fishing holes and always shared fond memories of driving through the North Carolina hills for family vacations. Later in life after her father's passing, she took over the family cattle farm and this was a profession and pastime that brought her great joy. She is preceded in death by her parents: Raymond Joseph Petters and Marion Elizabeth Petters; her two brothers: Chris Petters and Randy Petters. One sister: Linda Renicke; One nephew: Kevin Petters and two great nephews: Little Kevin Petters and Little Chris Petters. She is survived by her two daughters: Nicole Petters of Dade City, FL, and Jamie Petters (James Griner) of Dade City, FL; One son: Cody Dewitt (Kaylin Anderton) of Dade City, FL; Three Grandsons: Justin Petters, Jaxon Petters and Eli Petters ; One sister: Kathy Allison of Dunnellon, FL; Three nephews: Damon Petters, Ricky Washburn (Crystal Washburn) of Homosassa, FL, and Drew Cooner (Heather Crowson-Cooner) of Dade City, FL and numerous great nieces and nephews. Those wishing to honor Karen are invited to Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City, on September 17, 2022. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM. Services will be from 1:00 PM-2:00 pm. There will be a funeral procession to the graveside burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery immediately following the services.
