June Young Farmer of Dade City, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was 89. June was born to Henry Clinton Young and Varien Jefferson Young in Thonotosassa, Florida. She was a proud life-long Floridian, living most of her life in Dade City and the surrounding area, and could tell amazing stories of her family heritage. She was a member of New Hope Assembly of God in Brooksville, FL.
June was a kindergarten teacher, served as secretary at St. Marys Episcopal Church of Dade City and was a member of the Dade City Garden Club. She graduated from Dade City High School, and attended Florida State University and the University of Florida.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Ray Farmer Sr. After retiring, she enjoyed travelling with Ray cross country on his big rig truck.
She is survived by her son, Robert Andrew Booth Jr. (MaryAnn Goodrum-Booth) of Riverview, Florida, and grandchildren, Alexandra Kathryn and Dylan Andrew Booth; and daughter, Catherine Alice Booth (Dannie Williamson) of Dade City, Florida.
June was predeceased in death by her parents and five siblings, Mary Alice Young Smith, Helen Marie Young Jenkins, William Clinton Young ("Billy"), Henry Clinton Young Jr. ("Sonny"), and Sara Kay Young Wines.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm. Internment will follow the service at the Dade City Cemetery in the family plot.
