Joyce Anne Thomas, mother to Melissa Thomas and Christylynn Kaluhiokalani (Thomas), passed away on March 14, 2024. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by family. Known for her beautiful smile, independent streak and love of flowers, Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Joyces family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa and Christylynn (Karl); 4 grandchildren, Randy Chambers Jr., Kristiana Matthews (Jim), James Kaluhiokalani (Erin), and Kyle Kaluhiokalani; her sister and brother in law Rose and William Sperry, sisters Donna Mae and Colleen; brothers Ron Watson and his wife Tracy, Randy Watson, Scott Watson. Although born and raised in New Jersey, Joyce made Myrtle Beach, SC and San Antonio, FL her home since 1995 and 2018 respectively. Her love of the outdoors, the beach, Hibiscus flowers, and other various plants drew her to move to warmer weathers. When Joyce was not relaxing in her chair at the beach, she enjoyed spending time around her house completing various DIY projects as well as landscaping. Some of her other favorite hobbies included floating in her pool, watching mystery movies/shows, puzzles, and decorating her fish tank. Our mom was the strongest woman weve ever met. She wasnt afraid of anyone or anything. She was a fierce independent go-getter who never let not knowing stop her; she always found a way to get the task accomplished!
