Joyce Elaine Burton Hatfield McDuffie passed away November 22, 2024 at Advent Health Zephyrhills. She was Born April 14, 1935 in Madisonville, KY to Thelma and Ansel Burton. Joyce moved to Detroit Michigan in 1937. She attended Detroit public schools, McKerrow and Custer Elementary

She graduated from Cooley High School Detroit ME., June 20, 1952 at 17 years of age ( two double promotions). Joyce attended Walsh College in Detroit Michigan and

was referred by one of her teachers to Detroit Teachers Credit Union as a senior in 1951 and remained employed there with a long and very illustrious career climbing to the position as the first lady ever elected to a Credit Union Co-Op Board in Michigan. She was the first woman appointed as branch manager of a credit union in Michigan where she implemented Payroll Deduction with Detroit Board of Education, implemented payroll deduction plans with several universities,

set up Collection Dept, set up loan issuing and tellers procedures, Cross trained procedures for loan department and tellers, and was the branch manager, Southfield Branch 1978-1990

Joyce retired and moved to SpringHill, Florida in 1991. She was united in marriage to

W. Cliff McDuffie 2001 and moved to Zephyrhills, FL.
