Scholz, Josephine M., 90, of San Antonio, Fla., died September 3, 2012 at Royal Oaks Nursing home. She was born on May 24, 1922 on Long Island, NY. "Jo" graduated from Flower-Fifth Avenue School of Nursing as a registered Nurse, and attended Columbia University on Scholarship. The Scholz family moved to Lakeland, Fla. in 1958. After Oliver's death in 1961, Jo was employed by Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She and her daughters moved to San Antonio in 1966. After 23 years of employment, she retired as Head Nurse of the hospital's Post-Operative Surgical Unit of 66 beds. She is predeceased by her parents and sister, Gloria. Survived by her daughters, Jo-Lynn, of Zephyrhills, Fla. and Denise Scholz, of San Antonio, Fla. Visitation will be held Thurs., 9/6/12 from 3-4pm, with a rosary at 4pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 301, Dade City. Funeral Mass will be Fri., 9/7/12 at 10am at St. Anthony Catholic Church; Interment to follow at St. Anthonys Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donate to St. Anthonys building fund.
