Obituary

Joseph (Mickey) White, 99 passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015. Mickey, formerly of Palm Harbor and Dade City, FL, was a parishioner of St. Rita Church of Dade City. He was born on September 1, 1916 in Lawrence, MA. The son of Joseph LeBlanc and Emilie (Perry). Mickey wed the love of his life, Esther (Lehey), in 1940. They lived in Lawrence and summered in Hampton, NH. During their retirement they were happy snow birds migrating between Palm Harbor and Hampton. He was the owner of several businesses, before retiring after 30 years as an Ironworker of Lawrence Local 351. He created and directed the Ironworkers Apprenticeship Program for Local 351. He also volunteered for Hospice of Florida SunCoast. Mickey enjoyed telling stories of his life; was an avid cribbage and poker player; and Boston Red Sox fan. He could fix or build anything and could always be found by listening for his humming/whistling. Mickey is survived by four children, Kenneth of Dade City, John (Jack) of Hampton, NH and Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy Meech of Dade City, and Terriann Fazio of Maitland, FL, two sons-in-law, Charles Meech and Peter Fazio, 11 Grand Children, 4 Step Grand Children, 18 Great Grand Children, 1 Great Great Grand Child, 1 brother-in-law, Joseph OGorman and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Esther and son, Michael and two daughters-in law, Nancy and Joyce. Memorial Mass will be at St. Ritas Church, Dade City Friday, Oct. 23, 11am. Interment will occur in Hampton, NH.
