Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph E. Ouelette, husband, father, brother, friend and Veteran on January 13, 2021, one day shy of his 88th birthday. Born in Grand Isle, Me. on January 14, 1933, to Rina (Corbin) and Martin Ouellette, he grew up in Van Buren, Me. with his siblings Bertrand, Richard, (both predeceased), Theresa Cyr, Marie Ofitelli, Joan Kratzer, Nora Passier. Upon graduating from Van Buren High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent the next 26 years serving his Country. While serving in Japan, he met the love of his life, Yuko and had their adored son, Travis. Because he loved his roots, after retiring from the Air Force, he and his family spent their summers on Long lake, St. Agatha, Me., where many family gatherings were held. He lived the remainder of the year with his family outside Tampa Fl.
