June 23, 1941 – January 9, 2025
Joseph Francis Muzzillo, 83, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on January 09, 2025, of natural causes. He was the son of the late Arthur Muzzillo and the late Sarah (Pullano) Muzzillo. Joseph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Ann (Cerrillo) Muzzillo; his three children, Anthony Joseph Muzzillo, Artur Vincent Muzzillo, beloved daughter Dina Marie (Muzzillo) Padilla and son- in- law Peter Padilla; his granddaughter Kayla Muzzillo; and his sister Rosalie (Muzzillo) Ponzi.
Joe was born in Niagara Falls, NY, in 1941 and was a graduate of Niagra Falls High School, class of 1959. After an early graduation, Joe enlisted in the Navy. He was stationed on the US naval vessel USS Exulant, and was honorably discharged in March of 1963 with a service rank of E-4. That same year, being a dedicated young American, Joe then enlisted in the United States Army for another tour of military service during the Vietnam war. During the war, Joe was a decorated sharpshooter. He received the prestigious Vietnam Service Medal given for two brave overseas tours during US wartime. During his long and war-torn three years of service in the United States Army, he achieved the rank of E-5 (Specialist), and received an honorable discharge in March of 1966.
After his dedicated years of military service, Joe pursued a hard working career with the United States Post office. His post office career spanned a total of 27 years. Joe started out as a mail carrier and retired as a hub supervisor in 1993. During his career with the post office, he resided with his family in Niagara Falls, New York, and then Grand Island, New York.
Once retired, Joe took an easier and more enjoyable employment path at Beaver Island Golf Course on Grand Island, New York. He worked there as a tee time starter where he pursued his love for playing golf. Working at a golf course and playing were what Joe really enjoyed. In 2003, Joe and his wife Frances moved to sunny Florida where his three children resided. He and his wife set up residence in a golf course community in Brooksville for their twilight years. As a resident of the sunshine state, Joe again worked as a tee time starter at Sherman Hills Golf Club and Southern Hills Plantation. He enjoyed playing many rounds of golf at both clubs, as well as playing at a variety of other golf clubs with friends. Joe also enjoyed his " Million Dollar View" from the windows of his golf course residence, and spending time with his family at simple gatherings and holidays alike. He will be missed with heavy hearts...
