Joseph Kustra, age 99, passed away on May 23, 2024, at Advent Health Facilities in Zephyrhills, Fla. Joseph was born to Michael Kustra and Mary (Kazemka) Kustra on January 17, 1925, in Mahanoy City, Pa. & was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School. Joseph is survived by his nephew Thomas Capone, 6 Grand-children and 7 Great-grandchildren. Joseph was pre-deceased by his spouses Lois, Vera, and Alice (Pat) Kustra and his 10 brothers and sisters. He was also predeceased by 3 children Robert, Joey, and Lois Audrie. After early retirement from the Budd Company in Pa, he moved to Zephyrhills, Fla, where he volunteered 33 years to the Meals on Wheels foundation. Joseph was a good man who enjoyed bowling so much that he was elected President of his league. One of his proudest accomplishments was the service that he spent in the U.S Army during World War II. Never was he seen without his WW II veterans hat or telling stories of the time he spent during his service. All that knew him had agreed on this He loved to make a joke to see everyone smile. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. A private Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2024.
