Joseph Michael Fagan Sr. 75, of Dade City, FL passed away Monday, September 30, 2019. He was born September 6, 1944 in Dade City to Jerome "Boots" & Jeanette Hamilton Fagan and was a lifetime area resident.

Mike was an original to the nuisance alligator program when it was established in the 1970s. He has been a key figure in the alligator industry, passing on his legacy for future generations. His presence will be missed not only by his family, but by the many people that he met daily. His contributions to the alligator industry, FWC and the citizens of Florida was greatly appreciated.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Reita Fagan; 2 children: Mickey & Debbie Fagan, Charles & Jo Fagan; 1 brother: Tommy & Susie Fagan; 10 grandchildren: Daniel & Kacee Fagan, Brandy & Charles Barba, Jennifer Fagan, Brittany & Cody Schaefer, Crystal & Cody Dwyer, Donna Fagan, Shirl D. Fagan, Bryan Stevens, Misti Stevens, Kristian & Vincent Morana; 14 great grandchildren and 2 nieces: Alex Fagan and Abby Fagan. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Shirl A. Fagan; and parents: Boots & Jeanette Fagan.

Funeral Services will be held 10am Monday, October 7, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends for viewing from 5-7pm Sunday evening at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in his memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
