Joseph Cannon "Pastor Joe" 85, of St. Joseph, Florida passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at James A. Haley VA Hospice Center after a long battle with Cancer.

Pastor Joe was born October 26, 1933 in Lake Garfield, Florida, the son of Samuel and Betsy Cannon.Survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Marjorie Cannon; son, Joseph J. Cannon Jr. and his wife Mary, daughter, Cynthia L. Gude and her husband David, son, Stephen Barthle and his wife Lana; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 7 siblings and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel D. and Betsy Cannon, wife, Bertha Lene Watkins, daughter, Valerie Baker, granddaughter, Nicole Cannon; 4 siblings (Cecil, Gladys, Eula and Vernon).

He served in The United States Armed Forces, including the Korean War. Pastor Joe put God first in his life and devoted his time to family and Church. He was a member of Dade City Church of God and Pastor of 42 years of Cannon Jail and Prison Ministry.

Visitation will be held 11am to 12pm Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Dade City Church of God, 14520 21st Street, Dade City, FL 33523. Funeral services will immediately follow officiated by Rev. Mark Frier and Rev. James Edgar Cannon. Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridge Manor United Methodist Church for PVA/VA Hospice or Dade City Church of God, designated for VA Hospice.
