Mr.Jorge Reyes, age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Dade City, Florida.
Jorge was born on January 2, 1947, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, Ramon and Zenobia Reyes. He was one of twelve siblings and maintained close relationships with his large family, as well as many dear friends across Puerto Rico, New York, and Florida.
On July 5, 1969, Jorge married the love of his life, Ida Iris Reyes, in New York City. Together, they shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, dedication, and family.
Although Jorge’s formal education ended in early, he was exceptionally intelligent, resourceful, and business-minded. A true entrepreneur, he owned and operated his own restaurant in New York City and later became a building owner. Throughout his life, Jorge worked in many fields, including farming, sales, hotel services, factory work and cooking.
His strong work ethic and determination were evident in everything he did—he was a man who never gave up.
Jorge lived in New York City, Puerto Rico, and Florida, building a life full of meaningful experiences and lasting relationships. In his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball, boxing and took great pride in his cultural traditions.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Ida Iris Reyes; his children, Jorge Reyes Jr. & (Yudelkis), Diana & (Paul) Wigfall, Rosa & (Jorge) Oliveras, Hector Carlos & (Gabriela) Reyes; and his cherished grandchildren, Jasmine, Ileana, Jhendy, Joel, Justin, Jacob, Ryanna, Fabian, Kaleb, Ezra, and Ozias. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Sophia, Zarianah, Sophia, Mia, Zander and Kyomi.
Jorge is also survived by his siblings, Auria, Ramon, Julia, Israel, Maria Ester, Maria Zenobia, Nelson, and Magdalena “Dalia” Reyes, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Zenobia Reyes, and his siblings Ricky and Carlos Reyes.
Jorge will be remembered as a hardworking, determined, and loving man who deeply valued his family and never stopped striving to provide a better life for those he loved. His legacy of resilience, strength, and devotion will live on in all who knew him.
