Johnny Lee Mathis 59, of Dade City, FL passed away Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born October 12, 1959 in Dade City, FL to Newbran E. & Ollie Mae Cobb Mathis and remained a lifelong area resident. He was a tow truck driver for 15 years and then worked 17 years at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee and lived by his motto "Not the man I use to be, but the man I tried to be after accepting Jesus". Johnny is survived by his wife of 37 years: Debra Mathis; 2 children: Miranda Fleming, Jason Mathis; 6 grandchildren: Chase Hall, Keelan Kyle, Aiden Fleming, Hunter Batton, Audrey Mathis, Anyssa Hall; 1 sister: Barbara Tucker and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of his Life will be held 12pm Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in his memory to First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. Celebration of Life Service
