On March 19th 2023, Johnny Lee Holmes, of Baptist Faith, Beloved Husband (widowed), Dad, Pop Pop, Brother, Uncle and Friend passed away at the age of 72 from heart failure at The Rucki Hospice Care Center, Zephyrhills, FL. Johnny was born November 1, 1950 in Seagrove, NC and moved to Dade City, Florida in his early teens where he met his wife of 48 years Verna. Many people know Johnny from his years of being a Little Debbie Snack Cake Distributor. He Loved his Family and enjoyed wood working and being outdoors, but Most of all he was an Avid Bass fisherman; he took great pleasure all the years and camaraderie fishing in the Dade City Bass Club. His Love of fishing has passed down through his daughters and grandchildren. Many wonderful memories have been made with Family & Friends on the lakes of central Florida. Johnny is survived by his daughters, Valerie Holmes, Teresa Holmes Tomkow (Frank), and Julie Holmes. His grandchildren Rainey Tomkow (Fianc Moe Irvin), Chase Tomkow (Holly Fadling), and Travis Fowler Jr., his brother Danny Holmes (Doti), and several nieces and nephews. Johnny is preceded in death by his Beloved Wife Verna Nichols Holmes, his mother Ellen Reeder Holmes, and his father Rawlin Holmes.
