John E. Wright of Webster, FL passed away on December 16, 2024. Born on August 12, 1948 in Berlin, Germany. He moved to the US with his parents in 1952 and settled in the Chicago, IL suburbs. John proudly joined the USAF. He was a MSGT after serving 24 years. He fought for this country in Vietnam as well as in Desert Storm. There was no one prouder of being a veteran and serving his country. He was a patriot through and through.
John loved his motorcycles, fast cars, music, Nascar, and had a huge soft spot for animals. Most of all, he loved his family. John was exceptionally proud to be a grandfather, and he was the best one they could ask for.
To know John was to love him. If you ever came across him, you were considered a friend. He was such a loving, giving, sweet man, with a smile that would light up a room. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all.
John is proceeded in death by his parents, Ted and Edith Wright, his brother Dick Wright, and his sister, Linda Bowen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Elizabeth (Liza) Ranalla, his children Vickie (Kam) Lockwood, Nick (Courtney) Wright, David and Jason Eddy. His six grandchildren, Kailah and Kavin Lockwood, Londyn Green-Wright, Mason, Hunter Jay, and Logan Wright. His sister Cynthia Ward, as well as many nieces, nephew, and Elizabeth's family.
Services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 12pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City, FL. Military honors will follow at Bushnell National Cemetary at 2pm.
