Funeral services for Mr. Prater will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Hwy 301 in Dade City, with visitation from 10 a.m. to the hour of service at the funeral home. Wesley was born August 26, 1922, in DeFuniak Springs, FL, to Charles Wesley Prater and Curtis Lenorah Bell Prater.J.W. was a farmer and he enjoyed his work.Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Betty Prater; one daughter Darlene (Mac) McKendree; three sons David Prater, Dan Prater, and Dwayne (Jackie) Prater; ten grandchildren Brent (Sharon) McKendree, Cassie Prater, David Prater, Jr., Aubrey Prater, Cody Prater, Corrie Prater Birrou, Jason Prater, Joel Prater, Lindsey Prater, and Jarrod Prater; eight great grandchildren Blain, Laken, Jonah, Alexis, Kaiden, Faris, Emily, and Gunnar.one sister Odessa (Junior) Overstreet;and one brother Milton (Jean) Prater.
