John Franklin
Stanforth
April 29, 1965 – April 22, 2021
John Franklin Stanforth, born April 29, 1965 in Wilmington Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2021 after a long battle with diabetes. John is survived by his parents Leonard L. Stanforth, Sr. (Thelma Johnson) of Inglis, Florida, his mother, Joanne Francis Stanforth of Dade City, his brothers, Michael Ray Stanforth (Connie) of Ridge Manor, Leonard L. Stanforth, Jr. (Laurie) of Wesley Chapel and Matthew Stanforth of Jacksonville, and one sister, Kim Stanforth Nealey (Jeff) of Brooksville. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Brad, Jake, Brianna, Nicholas, Dylan (Stanforth), Sarah Stanforth Owens (Casey), Manny Acosta, Ryan and Emily Nealey. John leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins and many childhood friends from his hometown of New Vienna, Ohio and North Miami Florida where he graduated from North Miami Senior High in 1983. John was a former employee of Publix in North Miami, enlisted in the Navy where he received a medical discharge and proceeded to work in the private security industry.
John grew up an avid fan of wrestling and recently met one of his idols, Ronnie Garvin, a retired wrestler, one of the many highlights of his short life.
A private memorial is planned for John later in May. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to a Diabetes Research Foundation of your choice.
