John J Sierra, 92, passed away on January 2, 2018 in Tampa, FL. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, but was raised in Ybor City. John served in the Army during World War II. After returning from service, he worked in the construction field in Tampa. He then became a building inspector for the city of Tampa. John retired after 26 years. John was also a proud member of the Masonic Order for 50 years. For many years he enjoyed a round of golf and meeting friends at the Tropicana. John loved his friends, community, and especially his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years: Wanda. He is survived by: daughters; Norma Jean, Denise (Garwood), Alberta (Jimmy); son: Marcus (Robbi); grandchildren: Eric (Leigh), Christopher, Brandon; and great- grandson: Cayson. A visitation will be held on January 6 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a service immediately following at Hodges Family Funeral Home Hwy 54 location.
