J. Paul Higgins, Sr., 81, entered into eternal life on June 11, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. He most recently was a resident at The Bristol of Tampa, after being a long-time resident of the Orlando area. Paul was born on May 20, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in southern Ohio, relocating to Florida around 1960 where he met his first wife and mother of his four children. He is survived by his children: Paul Jr. and wife Annette of Houston, Texas; Michael of Palm Springs, California; Kathleen Duffy of Dade City; and Ray and wife Jennifer of Lutz. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. After living in Tallahassee for 5 years in the 1970s, Paul developed a deep love for the Florida State Seminoles which he carried throughout his life. He was a huge sports fan and coached his two oldest sons in Little League baseball. Paul grew up Catholic and raised his children in the Catholic Church; his faith in Jesus Christ and eternal optimism carried him through the various joys and struggles of life. A memorial service will be held in the future at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa.
