John Irwin Carns, 87, years old of Zephyrhills passed suddenly on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his home. He was born January 09, 1938 in Curwensville, PA to John M. and Violet M. Carns. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Military Police. He was united in marriage to the lovely, Mary Jane Whitaker on August 11,1961 in their hometown.

He was an electronics engineer for most of his working life and retired from Siemans Technology Corp.

In his younger years, he enjoyed stock car racing, flying gas model airplanes and eventually his wife, Mary Jane, got him into square dancing.

He passed on his love of hunting, fishing and all of nature to his children and grandchildren. He had a quick smile, firm handshake and many friends including the waitresses at all his favorite restaurants.

He will be sorely missed but Loved Forever.

The true love of his life, his wife, Mary Jane preceded him in death on March 6, 2016 and welcomed him to Heaven. He is survived by his children;

John R. Carns and spouse, Tammy,

James R. Carns and spouse, Erin Tucker,

Jesse I. Carns and spouse, Jennifer Carns;

along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 3-4 PM at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 SR 54 Zephyrhills with service to follow at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude's Hospital and the ASPCA.
