John Lynn Burton, Sr, of Dade City, FL, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Zephyrhills, FL. He was 73. John was born in Aurora, Illinois, on May 29, 1951, to Warren and Anella Burton. He graduated from St. Charles High School in Illinois with the class of 1969. He was raised in Batavia, Illinois, and lived in Maple Park, Illinois before retiring to Florida. He was employed as Transportation Manager for Hines Lumber Company out of St. Charles, and later Rochelle, Illinois, and also as a crane operator. He married Betty Ann Brand on January 2, 2016. John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and camping. Woodworking and model trains were hobbies he also enjoyed.

John is survived by his wife, Betty, and her son, James R. Albritton III (Cyndie), and grandchildren, Ross and Mary; (whom he loved dearly), a brother Kenneth (Judy), a sister Ruth Ann, two children, John and Julianne, a grandson, Andrew Burton, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne (Leifheit), his parents, and brothers Wilbur, Merle, Wayne, Gene, Jerry, and Raymond (in infancy).

Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Dade City on Meridian Avenue, with Pastor Randy Huckabee presiding.
