John Rexford Tackett "Big John", age 54, departed from this life peacefully, surrounded by his children and multiple close family members on December 12th, 2025 in Lakeland Florida. John was born on August 26th 1971, to Ella and Robert Tackett in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. Growing up, John moved around to places like Janesville Pennsylvania, Chillicothe Ohio, and Ripley West Virginia, before his family settled down in Zephyrhills Florida in 1984. John lived the rest of his life in Zephyrhills and the surrounding area where he built his family and his legacy.

Any soul who was lucky enough to cross paths with John was sure to remember meeting him for the rest of their life. His ability to make anyone feel worthy of love and accepted in life was one of his greatest attributes as well as his overwhelming love for Jesus. Anyone blessed enough to call him friend will remember him as an overwhelming special person who had a unique and wonderful soul. John also had a big heart for fishing, spending time with his family, and helping anyone he could no matter what. He will forever be remembered as someone who touched all of our souls in the best way by showing his generosity and compassion. Although he may be physically gone from this earthly world, his family finds comfort that he rests with his father, Robert Tackett, and Jesus.

John is predeceased in death by his father Robert Tackett, and survived by his mother, Ella Waite Tackett, His children, John Tackett ||, Kaye-Leigh Bennett, Hope Tackett and Bryce Tackett, his siblings Robert (Melissa) Tackett Jr,, Serena (Tommy) Thomas and Dennis (Nicole) Tackett Sr, his 2 grandchildren, Kynleigh Tackett and Waylon Tackett, his nieces, nephews, and other close family members as his time and legacy lives on.
