It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joel Edward Hamilton, 45, on June 8, 2025, in Zephyrhills, Florida. Born on June 22, 1979, in Westland, Michigan, Joel's life was marked by deep connections to family and the places he called home.

Joel graduated from Zephyrhills high school in 1997. He worked in the construction field for many years. He had a love for racing dirt bikes, watching football and going to the games, especially when Tom Brady was playing.

Joel is survived by his beloved Katherine (Katy) Whyte, his daughter Kaley Hamilton, both of Zephyrhills. His father, Thomas Hamilton; Sisters Marcie Rinaldo (Jason), Amy (Leffler) Bewley; his maternal grandmother, Leota McCraight and many other friends and family. Joel's devotion to his loved ones was a central part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kellie (McCraight) Leffler; his stepfather Danny Leffler; his grandfather, Bill McCraight; his grandmother Helen Hamilton; his bonus grandmother Louise Coggins; and others whose memories remained close to him throughout his life.

May Joel's memory bring comfort and peace to those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on July 19, 2025, at 2:00 at Hodges funeral home, 11441 Us 301 Dade City, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his daughter Kaley Hamilton to help with funeral arrangements.
