Joann Strickland (1942-2025)

Joann Strickland of Zephyrhills, FL, died at the Hillside Health and Rehabilitation Center on April 10, 2025, after battling illnesses for several months.

Joann Strickland was born in Liberty, TX, on September 4th, 1942, to Pauline and Joe Dempsey. Joann was the first of three children to Pauline and Joe. Joann joined the Army at 19 and served for 2 years serving as a medical stenographer at Ft Belvoir, VA. Joann met her future husband and love of her life while serving and married Bob Strickland on May 5th, 1962.Joann was preceded in death by her husband Robert L Strickland Sr., parents Joe and Pauline and her brother David Dempsey.'

Joann was also preceded in death by her eldest son Robert L Strickland, Jr. Joann is survived by her children Andy, Joe, Kathy and Charles. She is survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service and remembrance will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home at 36327 State Road 54, Zephyrhills, FL, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:30pm. Her remains will be interned at Bushnell National Cemetery alongside her husband on a date to be scheduled.
