Swift, Joan Ianthe, 87 of Wesley Chapel, FL passed peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at home. Mrs. Swift was born in Belize City, Belize, Central America to Charles & Florene Middleton nee Hoare. Joan was a trailblazer in her career and a family-centered woman. In the 1950's she was already a proficient printing technician and worked in the industry until the late '70s. Joan was also an agent for positive social change and transitioned into the social service field working closely with vulnerable children and families. Joan also had a passion for music as she vivaciously provided piano lessons for her family, the youth in her church and her community that touched the hearts of many generations. She retired in Belize and was an active member of her church as Choir Director and also founded her church's youth Group "Youth Making a Difference" before migrating with her husband to West Palm Beach Florida. While living in West Palm Beach she enjoyed attending Connect Church with her family and later moved to the Wesley Chapel area. Joan is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Leslie) Dakers of West Palm Beach, FL, Phyllis (George) Gadson of Tamarac, FL, Geraldine (Gilroy) Graham of Jamaica, Michelle (Jeff) Van Gorder of Wesley Chapel, FL; Grandchildren, 9. A Celebration of Joan's life will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Trinity Church of Wesley Chapel, 33425 FL-54, Wesley Chapel, Florida 33545.
