Joan Carol Shaia, 75, of Dade City, Florida passed away on September 21, 2022. She was born on April 17, 1947, to Alfred Egliskis and Ella Mae Litzenberger. She graduated Torrington High School and worked for Southern New England Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator. Joan and Richard P Shaia married on June 17th, 1967, in Nashua, New Hampshire. They enjoyed 55 beautiful years together and created a wonderful family. Joan resided in Torrington, Connecticut, and for the past 12 years in Dade City, Florida. She loved to play cards and bingo with friends and family. She was a member of the Sunshine Committee and Bingo Committee. She is preceded in death by her brother: Richard Farrell. Joan is survived by her husband: Richard P Shaia; Son: Wayne Egliskis (Gina); Daughters: Wendy M Zdancewicz (Edward) and Melissa M. Shaia. Grandchildren: Amanda Delpha, Johnathan Foster, Sarah Foster; two great-grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews; God Child: Jennifer LaPorte Perdelwitz; Sister: Patricia LaPorte (Richard LaPorte), Phyllis LaVelle (Joey Canamela); several grand kitties; and loving friends and family. A service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. A time of visitation will take place prior from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City, Florida.
