Joan Marie Elliott Crandall, 79, of Zephyrhills departed this life on June 27th, 2016 at the Kindred Hospital in Tampa. She was born on April 26th, 1937, in Delhi, New York. She was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Esther (Burrows) Elliott. She was educated in New York and earned her registered nursing degree at Crouse Irving School of Nursing in Syracuse, New York. Joan married Richard P. Crandall on October 14th, 1956. Joan worked as an RN until her first child was born and then she became a stay at home mother which she greatly enjoyed. Joan would always use her nursing skills to lend a helping hand to any that were ill in the community. In 1976, she moved to Florida and resumed her nursing career, working in Obstetrics. She also worked at Zephyr Haven Nursing Home. Joan attended and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leonardsville , New York, and then joined a Baptist Church upon moving to Florida. Joan was a dedicated Christian wife and mother and she loved to share her faith with anyone and everyone. Joan and Richard enjoyed 59 years of marriage and were true soul mates. She also loved and adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always there for each and every one of them. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard P. Crandall, and her daughter, Elizabeth (Crandall) Parent and her husband, George, of Clearwater; her son, Stephen H. Crandall and his fiance, Jennie Boyd of Zephyrhills, her daughter, Catherine E. and her husband, Michael A. Hussey of Zephyrhills. Her grandchildren, Elisia (Rickard) Briscoe of Wesley Chapel, Zachary A. Rickard and his fiance, Brooke Habel of Clearwater, Katy (Crandall) Beddingfield and her husband, Blake, of Eatonton, Georgia, and Kari E. Crandall and her fianc, Christopher Bradshaw of Eatonton, Georgia, her great-grandchildren, Chandler Briscoe, Carisma Briscoe, Kalli Beddingfield and Blakely Beddingfield. A private family ceremony will be held with internment at the Florida National Cemetery.
