Joan Ballard, 81, of Dade City, FL, died peacefully at home on June 10, 2017. She is survived by daughters Terry (Bob) Hurd, Mary Ann (Jay) Kominsky, and Susan (James) Permane. She was predeceased by her husband, John, and brothers Don, Hubert and Tom Cable. Originally from Michigan, Jo moved to Dade City with her family in 1951. After high school, she worked at The Outlet and Pasco Packing. In 1957 she married John and devoted the rest of her life to her family. She loved all types of music but especially bluegrass and instilled that love of music in her girls. Her family and close friends enjoyed her delightful and sometimes mischievous sense of humor. She was a very special mom and friend who will be dearly missed.A service for Joan will be held on Thursday, June 15th, at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Gardens cemetery in Dade City. The family will receive visitors one hour prior, from 10:00 to 11:00, at Hodges Family Funeral Home's 301 chapel. Visitation
