Jo Ann Mitchell, 88, moved to her new home in heaven on April 24, 2022.

Born in Trilby, Florida, she moved to Dade City, Florida, upon graduation from Pasco High School in 1950. She married Emerson Mitchell on March 15, 1952, and they were happily married for 63 years until he passed away in 2014.

Jo Ann retired from Lykes Pasco after 38 years of service in 1995. She was a long time member of Calvary Assembly of God in Dade City, where she used her sewing talents in several ministries. She loved sewing, crocheting, working puzzles, reading, and watching Rays baseball games. She loved the Lord and her family and was called Nanny Mitchell by many.

Jo Ann is predeceased by parents Elisha and Doris Fowler; grandchildren Robin Palmer, Crystal Clements, and Matthew Winn; brothers Robert Fowler, James Fowler, Jack Fowler, and Johnny Fowler. She is survived by her daughters Gail Shelton (George) and Toni Winn (Tim); grandchild Kelli Winn; great grandchildren Will Palmer, Megan Palmer, and Chloe Palmer; sister Connie Hogard; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2pm Friday, April 29, 2022, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy. 301, Dade City, FL 33525, and family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City immediately following the service.
