SIMONDS, Jimmy Franklin, age 77, of Lacoochee, FL, passed away on September 4, 2023. He was born on April 27, 1946 in Cleveland, TN to parents Annis (Ducket) Simonds & Rufus Simonds. He went to school in Lacoochee and later went on to work as a paint and body man for many years. He was successful and very well known for his work. Later, he also worked for a tree service with his son where he was recognized for his safe work ethics and many friendships. In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved ones. He loved playing pool with his friends at the lighthouse and was very skilled. He loved fishing with his grandbabies and children. He also raised hunting dogs for many years and loved to go deer hunting with his big brother, Jerry. Jimmy spent 17 wonderful years married to Carolyn Sue Jones. They had two children, Danny Simonds and Donna Summers. Although they divorced, they remained close friends. When Carolyn was diagnosed with cancer, Jimmy would help Donna take care of her. They especially loved to watch NCIS together. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Johnson; and his cousin and best friend, Randall Simonds. Survivors include his children: Danny Simonds (Christy) and Donna Summers (Chris); five grandchildren: Samantha Nair, Kaylee Simonds, Dylan Simonds, Devin Simonds, and Aiden Simonds; eight great-grandchildren: Jacob Gross, Bentley Gross, Gracelynn Paris, Sophia Paris, Greyson Simonds, Lyliah Holloway, Paislee Simonds, and Raelee Simonds; three siblings: Barbara Johnson, Jerry Simonds, and Buddy Simonds; five half-siblings: Janey, Bubby, Shela, Reba, and Shirley; and many other friends and loved ones. Jimmy will be truly missed by all who knew him.
