BAKER, Jessie McGowin 67 of Daytona Beach, died May 12, 2015. Jessie was born and raised in Dade City to Mac and Mae McGowin. She moved to Daytona Beach in 1965 where, along with her husband, she was the owner of Baker Tile and a successful real estate agent. Jessie completed 3 years at Daytona State College, where she majored in business & psychology; she was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing poker with her poker girls, and was a lover of nature where she was a nurse mate to many animals in need of her loving care. She enjoyed sharing her love for plants and green thumb with many people and cooked like nobodys business. She was preceded in death by her parents Mac & Mae McGowin, brothers David & Everett McGowin. Jessie is survived by her Daughter Corinna Gillis of Atlanta, GA, Son Devin Baker also of Atlanta, GA, Sisters Linda Foster of Webster, FL and Hazel Mercer of Lacoochee, FL, Brother Johnny McGowin of Eustis, FL, 2 Grandchildren Briana Phillips and Tyler Gillis and her companion and friend Bob Page. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 10:00 am at the Hwy 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
