Jenieva Lee Sowards, a beloved resident of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, at the age of 78 in Winter Haven, FL. Born on September 2nd, 1946, in Mansfield, Ohio to parents Olive and John Knipp, Jenieva was a beacon of love, strength, and creativity to all who knew her.

With a professional life devoted to beauty and self-expression, Jenieva was a talented cosmetologist and the proud owner of Hair Hut Salon for an impressive 37 years. Her artistry and dedication to her craft touched the lives of many clients who became more like family. Beyond her work, Jenieva found joy in tending to her garden of flowers, finding peace and inspiration among nature's blooms.

Jenieva is survived by her cherished children, Jana Martinez and Morgan T. Sowards. She was the proud grandmother of Jenna Martinez, Alex Sowards, Michael Martinez, Matthew Martinez, and Madison Sowards, and a devoted great-grandmother to Alivia Parker, Jordyn Martinez, Wesley Martinez, Iylee Sowards, Alyssa Sowards, and Lukas Sowards. Her family was the true pride of her life, and her legacy of love will live on through them.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Eugene Patton, Faye Branaham, William Knipp, Madeline Finley, Robert Knipp, Linda Knipp, Delaney Knipp, and Pamela Rigsby. Jenieva's memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel, on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Garden in Dade City, Florida, on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at 1:00 pm, where she will be laid to rest.
