Jeffrey Matthew Braley, age 59, of West Danville, Vermont passed away on January 6, 2018 after complications following heart surgery.

He was born on May 13, 1958 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Clinton and Violet (Lowe) Braley. Following the death of his father, when Jeff was only 9 years old, he and his younger brother, Peter, were raised by their strong and loving mother on her own. He went on to marry Pauline Dupuis in 1978 and they had three daughters, Elizabeth Ashley, Rebecca Lee, and Abby Rose Grace. He worked at MC Swift and Sons in New Bedford selling mens suits and La-Z-Boy selling furniture for many years. He retreated to Vermont in 2004 to be with his daughters, where his soul mate Leila Varnauskas and her son, Jason King, came to join him.

He enjoyed the last 14 years of his life on beautiful Joe's Pond in West Danville, hosting family cookouts, treating his family to pontoon boat rides, and spending time with his grandchildren and Lee. Another love of his life, was the Boston Red Sox, whom he avidly followed his whole life. He was a baseball lover in general, and enjoyed following his daughters', nieces', and nephews' teams. He was also a special "Uncle Jeff" to his daughters' siblings, Sydney and Mac McAlister.

A quiet man to most, he did hold close relationships with his aunts, uncles, and cousins all over the country. Maine held a special place in his heart, where he spent many summers of his childhood and adult life, with his Uncle Ron, Aunt Alice, and their children. He served as the family resource for history, genealogy, and baseball statistics. He was the family photographer; always there to capture family memories, and organize them by category, date and time.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clinton and Violet Braley, and many close aunts and uncles. He is survived by his beloved daughters and their families, Liz and Tim Heath of Concord, VT, Becky and Craig Taylor of Lyndonville, VT and Abby Braley of St. Johnsbury, VT . His grandchildren: Logan, Emily, Audrianna, Madeline, Anna, and Ashley. His love, Lee and her son Jason. His brother Peter Braley and wife Priscilla and family of Fairhaven, MA. As well as 37 cousins and their families.

Services will be held on February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in St. Johnsbury, VT with a gathering to follow at the church for friends and family. A celebration of life will be planned later this summer at Joe's Pond.
